Expected Value Betting

What is EV Betting?

Expected Value (EV) Betting involves comparing the odds offered by sportsbooks with the true probability of an outcome to identify advantageous bets. This means that over many such bets, one can expect to profit, assuming the odds remain consistent.

The key is to exploit outliers between posted odds and true probabilities for long-term gain.

How to read the BeeBettor EV Card

1. EV%: The percentage you see in the yellow box is the expected value percentage. The higher the better, in this case 8.44% means that for every $1 wagered you are expected to profit $0.0844.

2. Weighting: The text in blue at the top of the card is the active weighting that is being used to calculate the EV%, Fair Value, and staking recommendation.

3. Devig Method: This is how the juice is allocated to calculate the fair value of the bet. The method is chosen in your settings

4. Fair Value: These are the odds that are considered fair, or a breakeven point. DO NOT place the bet if you are getting worse odds than this!

5. Staking Recommendation: This is where your bet sizing settings show up. If you include a number in your bankroll you will see a dollar amount. If not you will get your Kelly preference unit recommendation

6. Bet Recommendation: The odds and sportsbook you should place the bet at.

7. Analyze: This takes you to the players market page, in this case Blake Snell Strikeouts.

8. Date & Time: Date and Time the game starts, shown in EST time zone.

9. Game: Shows the game in which the bet takes place.

10. Player: This shows the player for the bet, if it is a player prop.

11. Market: This is the market and bet you are placing.

12. Devig Books: These are the rest of the odds we found for the same market, this is what odds are used for the fair value calculation, with your weights applied!

13. Additional actions: Clicking the 3 dots in the top right corner allows you to save or hide the play.
